This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge you need to help allied health staff such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech pathologists to implement patient rehabilitation or maintenance therapy programs. It will also teach you how to prepare written and verbal reports on the progress of patients.

Students who wish to continue into Enrolled Nursing via the pathway - Certificate IV in Preparation of Entry into Enrolled Nursing will need an IELTS score of 6.0 on all bands or equivalent.

Admission Requirements

To gain admission to this qualification you need to meet the minimum entry requirement equivalent to Australian Year 10. Refer to the admission requirements for your country.

You need to provide a police clearance from your home country before you attend your work placement. You need to get this clearance before you arrive in Australia. You also need undertake health screening in Australia prior to your work placement.

Further Study

On completion of this qualification, you can continue on to the Certificate IV in Preparation for Entry into Nursing (52386) or the Certificate IV in Health Science Foundations (52401WA) then the Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) (HLT51607).

Additional Information

Please note that if you attend West Coast Institute of Training, some classes will be offered at the McLarty Campus in McLarty Avenue, Joondalup. This campus is approximately 10 minutes walk from the main Kendrew Crescent, Joondalup campus. Students can also take the free CAT bus that circulates in the Joondalup CBD.

Cost

Tuition: $5,500 per semester

Additional costs:

  • First aid certificate $100 (compulsory before work placement)
  • Working with children check $10 (compulsory before work placement)
  • Health Department Criminal Screening - $10 and Australian National Police Clearance - $54
