This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge you need to participate in planning and managing plant shutdowns and modifications. You will also learn to take a leading role in the establishment of systems intended to prevent or enable responses to incidents or emergencies and following environmental work practices. You will learn about advanced safety case preparation, incident response management, plant documentation and environmental impacts
This qualification is taught at the Australian Centre for Energy and Process Training (ACEPT), which is located in the Perth suburb of Munster (near Fremantle). This facility is owned and operated by Challenger Institute of Technology on behalf of the Western Australian Government. ACEPT provides training for the oil and gas, mining and chemical production sectors. In particular, it services the workforce development requirements of companies involved in the North West Shelf offshore oil and gas industry.
Admission Requirements
Equivalent to Australian Year 12 with pass in Mathematics and English.

Feature: Australia's top apprentice - ACEPT's new career challenge. 20-year-old, Blake McCarthy, is the current West Australian and Australian apprentice of the year and has just become the youngest person accepted into Woodside’s oil and gas traineeship program. The two-year traineeship program involves 10 weeks of intensive study at Challenger Institute of Technology’s Australian Centre for Energy and Process Training in Munster, followed by hands-on work experience at Woodside’s Karratha gas plant.
