Overview
Kimberley Training Institute (KTI) is located in one of the world's last great wilderness areas in the far north of Western Australia. Covering an expanse of nearly 425,000 square kilometres and with a population of just 30,000 it has fewer people per square kilometre than almost any other place on Earth. International students are introduced to the lifestyle, culture and industry of the Kimberley through a variety of programs.
Our towns
- Broome is a renowned tourist centre where you will find some of the best beaches in the world and unique remote environments where you can explore the best the Kimberley has to offer.
- Kununurra is the heart of the Ord Valley’s horticulture area. It brings many opportunities to travellers, like seasonal work, from mangoes to melons. The Kimberley’s natural wonders entice them to stay and with various training and work opportunities, who wouldn’t stay?

Some of the courses we offer include:
Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management - There are a variety of areas that you can train in which include tropical horticulture, commercial forestry, commercial gardening and landscaping, local fruit and vegetable production, remote community food production and Conservation and Land Management.
Children’s Services - Make a positive and meaningful difference to children’s lives. The course provides you with many opportunities to develop your skills as an educator including supporting and caring for children as well as earning about the administrative and legislative side of running a centre.
Aquaculture - With a history of pearling and aquaculture Broome leads itself to being recognised as a leading centre for progressive aquaculture development. The state of the art Broome Aquaculture Centre provides students with a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of progressive aquaculture development in Australia and allows students to gain experience with finfish, mollusc and crustacean culture techniques.

Information Technology - KTI has a dedicated computer laboratory which operates on a Microsoft platform. KTI are a Cisco Authorised Academy, as well as authorised Partner of CompTIA. IT graduates are in high demand and can take their pick of the most dynamic opportunities on offer both in Australia and overseas.
English - Want to improve your English? In this class you will work in a supportive group environment with a qualified teacher to improve your reading and writing skills.
Commercial Cookery - Love food? This course gives you the tools to become a qualified chef. You will learn a variety of cooking techniques, food presentation skills as well as develop your interpersonal skills.
Hospitality - Gain essential ‘Front of House’ skills in our dedicated Industry training restaurant The Pearler’s Shed in Broome. In this course you will learn how to supervise bars and restaurants, gaming operations, front desk and reception areas.
