Overview

Central TAFE is a leader in practical, vocational training in Australia. It is one of the largest TAFE colleges in Western Australia, with its roots going back one hundred years to the days of Perth Technical College, Western Australia's original TAFE institution.

Some 16,000 students including 10,000 part-time students are enrolled at Central TAFE, together with a recruitment of over 1000 international students.

Some of our strengths include:
  • Excellent university pathways for many of our programs
  • Graduate destination surveys show almost 71% of graduates find employment in their chosen field within three months of graduation - in fact students are offered employment by industry before course completion.
  • Recent surveys indicated that 93% of the students would recommend their course to a friend.

Our Campuses

The main campuses of Central TAFE are located at Northbridge, East Perth, Mt Lawley, Leederville, Subiaco, Fremantle and Wembley. Central's International Centre is located at its Northbridge campus.

Course: Diploma of Technology (Interactive Multimedia)

Where: Central TAFE - East Perth

"On arriving in Perth, I had worries of a strange country, but these were quickly ended as I was met by an airport transfer and taken to my new home with an Australian family. I have found a good opportunity to learn about new food, Australian people and made new friends. I recommend this to be a good combination to settle in for overseas students visiting Western Australia."

"The teachers are diligent and friendly and their lectures are well organised. I have also been impressed with the facilities like the International Centre. If you have any problems, they can help solve them. I didn’t have any overseas friends before I came to Perth, but I have a lot of good friends now from all over the world."
