Application Terms & Conditions  Print   Email

The following terms, conditions and policies relate to all applications for study at TAFE through ETI. These must be read, understood and accepted by the student and any person acting on their behalf (e.g. authorized agent or parent/guardian).

Accuracy of Information Provided

An important condition of accepting applications is that all relevant, requested information is provided by the applicant and that it is fully accurate. This applies to information supplied by any method: online form, email, fax, post, etc.

Code of Conduct
  1. At all times, students’ conduct whilst in the school or college must allow other students to learn in a safe and suitable environment.
  2. Cheating of any kind is strictly forbidden in our schools or colleges. Cheating will result in failure and the possibility of being sent home without a qualification. This also applies to plagiarism (college lecturers will explain this in detail).
  3. It is a Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA) requirement that international students must study full time and achieve satisfactory attendance and progress levels, where attendance must reach a minimum of 80% and progress must reach a minimum of pass levels in 75% of award subjects. Failure to do so may lead to termination of studies.
  4. Attempts to forge Doctors Certificates for attendance records will result in suspension from studies and may lead to dismissal.
  5. Substance abuse (eg illegal drug taking or trafficking) is strictly forbidden in Western Australia. Any student found involved in this may be investigated by Police and sent home.
  6. Any student found to be involved in activities, which contravene Australian law will be automatically dismissed from their studies.

Permission to Release Results

From time to time we may need to contact your parents, guardian or agent to discuss matters concerning your welfare and academic. To do this, we require your permission. Please note this includes providing exam results if requested. Personal information may available to Commonwealth and State Agencies pursuant to obligations under the ESOS Act 2000 and the National Code.

Course Entry Requirements

Depending on what they are applying for, international students may need to satisfy academic and English proficiency entry requirements. It is the student or parent's responsibility to ensure that these are met and sufficient evidence provided.

Immigration & Visa Conditions

Australian Government immigration regulations apply to obtaining and maintaining visas required to reside and study in Australia. It is up to the applicant to comply with these requirements which include:
  • The need to arrange Overseas Student Health Cover for the duration of your visa
  • Minimum attendance requirements at your program classes (currently 80%)
  • Medical checks
  • Sufficient financial capacity

Availability of Places

We cannot guarantee the availability of places or programs at any school or college in advance. Places are only confirmed when the offer letter has been issued, all conditions have been satisfied and required payments made in full.

Fees & Other Costs

Indicative or estimated fee advice is not a guarantee. ETI will inform you in writing of the specific fee amounts that are payable to it at the time fees are due. It is also important to be mindful of fees that may be levied directly by the school or college and other costs of studying and living overseas.

Accomodation

If ETI is arranging accommodation (such as homestay), it will be done in consultation with the student or parent/guardian. Sufficient notice and agreement to desired accommodation changes will need to be provided to ETI (including parental/guardian approval where necessary).
