Tuesday, 05 April 2011
Central Institute has recently opened its new state of the art training facility in Northbridge. This $60 million building located at 30 Aberdeen Street will be home to the College's engineering faculty as well as its building design and construction areas.
Boasting new and modern training facilities the move will have considerable benefits for students studying engineering in 2011. There will be the benefit of brand new engineering laboratories, classrooms and state of the art IT infrastructure to support engineering studies.
The building has been designed to promote links with industry, support research and development activity and provide contemporary and creative training solutions. It will feature facilities including 6 large drawing/computer studios, 11 computer labs, 2 lecture theatres and a huge information common area housing the library, study rooms, open plan study area, student computers, research computers, printing station, multimedia/adaptive technology booths, audio visual department and student lounge.
Engineering students will also be closer to public transport and the heart of the Perth CBD. There will be easier access to Northbridge cafes, restaurants, shops, nightlife, the Perth Cultural Centre and the State Library of WA.
