Application Deadlines for Semester One 2010
Please note the cutoff date for new applications from a visa assessment level 3 or 4 country is 14 December 2009. The cutoff date for new applications from a visa assessment level 1 or 2 country is 8 January 2010. These dates are only for TAFE students who are applying from overseas. There is no cutoff date for students applying for schools or for TAFE students applying from within Australia.
Semester One Start Date and Late Arrivals
The TAFE WA colleges have advised us that in 2010 they will be very strict with requiring all continuing students to return to class on day one (1 February 2010). Students will only be allowed to return late if they have had prior approval. For all new students there is a one week grace period meaning they must be in class no later than 8 February 2010. Any students arriving after this date will be deferred to the July intake and have to return home.
Campus and Student Accommodation Issues
When agents are recommending campuses to their students can they please be mindful of the accommodation situation of the students. If the student intends to stay with relatives in the southern suburbs then it is not suitable to study at a northern suburbs campus etc. There is an excellent suburb and campus map on the inside back cover of the new 2010 International Course Guide. Please refer to this when advising your students on accommodation options.
