This music course offers students the skills to pursue a career in the contemporary music industry and is very suitable for aspiring performers, songwriters, managers and promoters. It provides training in contemporary music technology and the music business.

Special Entry Requirements: Entry requires a personal resume to be supplied and an informal telephone interview with the College

  • Certificate IV in Music

General Entry Requirements and Pre-requisites

Entry into the courser requires the equivalent of Australian Year 10 with passes in English.

For Yr 10-11 and Yr 12 academic equivalence, please refer to the Entry Requirements Summary (PDF) for your relevant country. This also details the normal English proficiency standard needed.


Special Entry Requirements

Entry requires a personal resume to be supplied and an informal interview (by phone or email) with the College.


Career Outcomes

Depending on the stage of completion, graduates can gain employment as a performer, songwriter, audio operator, production technician, CD and instrumental retail assistant and instrumental/vocal tutor. By adapting to diverse venue types, ie: hotels, taverns, high schools, all age gigs, private functions etc, musicians are able to maximise their income opportunities and take advantage of the flow-on into other income areas such as tuition, session work and song writing.
