Software Development Fast-track Option (Diploma)

This course is ideal for students who wish to fast-track into the second year of an IT degree at university. This one year course provides students with skills in programming and software development. The students use PC based software applications and networks. Specialist skills are developed in the course and a significant amount of work experience is arranged by the college for the student. Upon completion of the course graduates are guaranteed entry into the second year of an IT degree at Murdoch University.

General Entry Requirements and Pre-requisites

Entry into this course requires the equivalent of Australian Year 12 with passes in English and Maths or completion of the Cert III in Information Technology - Applications. An essential level of computing skills are also required.

For Yr 10-11 and Yr 12 academic equivalence, please refer to the Entry Requirements Summary (PDF) for your relevant country. This also details the normal English proficiency standard needed.


What You'll Learn in This Course

This course has been developed for students wishing to pursue a career in the Information Technology industry with emphasis on programming & software design. Graduates of this course are always in demand as the IT industry is continually growing around the world.

Depending on the stage of completion, graduates can obtain various skilled jobs in the software development industry.


Further Study & University Options

Students who complete all requirements of this Diploma with an average grade of 65% or better will be able to either:

(a) Enter several majors in the Bachelor of Science at Murdoch university with 1 year of credit.

(b) Enter the 2nd year of the Bachelor of Information Technology at the European Institute of Technology (EPITECH) in France.
