This qualification explores the geophysical and chemical formation of petroleum and the concepts of petroleum geology.  You will learn about drilling operations, both onshore and offshore; concepts of downhole pressure conditions and formation mechanisms and develop a strong awareness of well control methodologies.

Advanced Diploma students will also learn about advanced concepts of drilling and the management of the environmental effects of engineering activity.

Admission Requirements

To gain admission to this qualification you need to meet the minimum entry requirement equivalent to Australian Year 12 with passes in English and Mathematics or completion of Certificate III in Engineering – Technical (MEM30505).
