Education and Training International - Advanced Diploma of Engineering - Oil and Gas - Western Australia

This qualification explores the geophysical and chemical formation of petroleum and the concepts of petroleum geology.  You will learn about drilling operations, both onshore and offshore; concepts of downhole pressure conditions and formation mechanisms and develop a strong awareness of well control methodologies.

Advanced Diploma students will also learn about advanced concepts of drilling and the management of the environmental effects of engineering activity.

To gain admission to this qualification you need to meet the minimum entry requirement equivalent to Australian Year 12 with passes in English and Mathematics or completion of Certificate III in Engineering – Technical (MEM30505).

You can work both in office and field jobs in the areas of exploration, drilling, production, planning and management. Main employers are expected to be oil and gas explorers, and producers and companies providing services to the oil and gas industry.
