What You'll Learn in Each Course

The Certificate IV provides students with the practical skills and knowledge to design and produce contemporary furniture using timber, plastics, metals, and other newer materials for domestic and customised production. They will learn skills in visual presentation, problem solving and creative thinking as well as skills in computing, 3D construction, traditional and digital design.

The Diploma further develops the practical skills and knowledge to produce contemporary furniture designs. Students undertake projects where they apply creative, critical and visual judgement to devise innovative solutions using timber, plastics, metals, and other newer materials for domestic, commercial, corporate and customised furniture products. They learn about ergonomics, modernism, postmodernism, digital modelling, computer aided design (CAD), business and marketing.

The Advanced Diploma provides the practical skills and knowledge needed to produce contemporary furniture designs to a professional standard.
