WA Engineering Course a National First

An engineering course offered by Challenger Institute of Technology in WA has recently achieved full accreditation from the Engineers Australia Accreditation Board as a base qualification for entry to practice in the occupational category of Engineering Associate.

The course has been acclaimed for its innovative approach to para-professional engineering education and its graduates will help counter the national skills shortage.

Streamlined Visa Procedures to be Expanded to TAFE Institutes

ETI is very pleased to advise that the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Meeting in Canberra on Friday, 13th April, agreed to implement streamlined student visa procedures for "low-risk" private education providers and TAFE Institutes in the second half of 2012. The criteria to be applied to determine eligibility has yet to be announced.

2013 Endeavour Awards

Applications are now open for the 2013 round of the Endeavour Awards, the Australian Government’s internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship program. Applications for the Awards opened on 1 April 2012 and close on 30 June 2012 at 11.59am AEST. Successful applicants are notified of the results in November.

WA's Economy Hits Fastest Pace on Record

Aided by shoppers and the government sector, WA's economic activity excluding exports and imports, known as final demand, jumped 8.4 per cent in the three months to September.

ETI has successfully applied to become a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) under the new national VET regulator ASQA, effective from July 1st. What does this mean for your students? It’s business as usual and students will continue to study their course at the institute they currently attend. All students were recently sent a letter from ETI informing them of this administrative change and that their enrolment has transferred to ETI as the RTO.

Australian Endeavour Scholarship leads to Aviation Career

Bogdan Hiticas is eighteen years old, and he lives in Cluj-Napoca, one of the largest cities in Romania. At the end of June 2010, he finished his Baccalaureate at a High School that specialized in Computer Science, and began studying at the Technical University in Cluj. Thanks to good grades, a passionate involvement in his local community, and an overwhelming desire to fly, Bogdan was awarded an Endeavour Vocational Education and Training Award by the Australian government so that he can train to become a pilot in Perth.
